Mentoring is a cornerstone for advancement in any industry. It is especially valuable in commercial real estate, which relies heavily on business networking and leveraging relationships for connections. Professionals who take part in mentoring have an advantage. The knowledge exchanged enables mentors and mentees to build upon the shared experiences of others and advance their careers.

According to the 2020 CREW Network benchmark study, 43% percent of men and 32% of women aspire to reach the C-suite in commercial real estate. In addition, women under 40 were more likely than women over 40 to target the C-suite level.  In the CREW UK Roundtable series held in March 2021, CREW UK members confirmed that the value of developing one’s network is critical to their current and future success.

How is CREW UK Connects unique?

The programme has been developed to ensure that mentees gain the greatest benefit from a diverse and talented group of mentors. Programme benefits include:

  • The ability to meet multiple mentors. During Launch 3.0, mentees can meet up to five different mentors to broaden their network.
  • Mentees are in the driver’s seat.  Mentees choose which mentors they want to speak with, confirm an available meeting day/time, and set the agenda. Mentees select mentors via their real estate specialty and by areas of experience/expertise (personal development, work life balance, having difficult conversations, etc.) which provides for conversations that can be highly focused.

  • Manageable commitment. The Launch 3.0 programme be hosted for five months (19 July thru 19 December 2021)
  • Depth of engagement. In addition to the mentoring sessions, participants may access:
    • Launch events with mentors and mentees (watch the recap
    • Monthly mentor roundtables
    • Mentee connects sessions to provide feedback and network
    • Quarterly newsletters
    • LinkedIn group
    • Support of a committed mentorship committee
